For these portraits with Kate, I knew I wanted to have the images feel elegant and to work with Kate to get an expression that felt confident and powerful yet still very approachable.

For the styling, we decided on a black dress that she owned. (It’s hard to go wrong with a lovely black dress).  I found the faux fur wrap on Etsy (and it does now live in my studio which means it is available for your portraits).  Since we were creating portraits with and without the faux fur, I spoke with the amazing makeup artist, Pam Butler, about doing to different looks.  With the fur, I wanted a bit more glamour in the images so we decided to go a little more bold.  WIthout the faux fur wrap, we pulled the makeup back a touch for a little more of a natural makeup look.
